Statement of Faith

-The words of the Bible are "inspired" of God. In their original form they were totally error free. They are the ultimate authority on faith and living. [II Timothy 3:16-17]

-The existence of one God in three person: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. [I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14, Genesis 1:26]

-Jesus Christ as God the Son is 100% divine in nature. He became man by the miracle of the virgin birth and thus 100% human. He willingly died on the cross facing the judgement of the Father for our Sins. He arose physically from the dead on the third day and is living right now in heaven as our advocate and intercessor. [I John 1:1-3, Galatians 4:4, I Corinthians 15:3-7]

-Mankind was created by God with intellect, emotion and free will; like God Himself. Man used and uses his free will to rebel against God. The condition of rebellion, called sinfulness, keeps us from having a personal relationship with God. There is nothing within ourselves that we can do to solve this dilemma. [Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:10-18,23, Titus 3:5]

-A personal relationship with God can be reestablished by God's grace through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus for our sin. The process of reestablishing this relation is spiritual birth and involves repentance of sin. At the point of this new birth we are delivered from the penalty of our sinfulness as well as from the power of that sin. The personal relationship with God is kept by God's power and we are forever secure in Christ. On the basis of this relationship we have direct access into God's presence. [Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:5-6, Colossians 3:1-5, I Peter 1:3-5, Hebrews 4:16]

-The Holy Spirit is actively involved in this process of regeneration. He convinces us of our sinfulness, He gives spiritual life, He lives within us as the down payment of the future benefits of our personal relationship with God. He teaches us and fills us as we surrender our wills to God's will. [John 16:7-11, Ephesians 1:13-14, Galatians 5:16-25]

-All believers upon salvation are baptized by the Holy Spirit into one united Body, the Church. The Head of the Body is Jesus Christ.

-The Church functions in the local assemblies guided by the elders and deacons. Each believer is to be faithful in attendance, service and giving within that local church.

-Two ordinances given to the church are water baptism by immersion and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. [ I Corintians 12:12-14, Acts 2:41-42, Titus 1:5, I Timothy 3:1-13, Matthew 28: 19-20, I Corintians 11:23-26]

-Satan is a real and created being. He seeks to keep mankind from the understanding of God's redemptive plan. He also actively tries to cause believers to sin. As believers we have all we need in our relationship in Christ to combat the deception and temptation of Satan. [Isaiah 14:12-15, Ephesians 6:11-18]

-There is a real heaven as well as a real hell. Heaven is where believers go to be in the presence of God immediately upon death or in the event of Christ's return for His own. Hell is a place of torment in which those rejecting the forgiveness available though the shed blood of Jesus are separated eternally from God. [ II Corintians 5:1-8, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:11-15]
